The course material focuses on emergency rescue plans and equipment used in accident prevention plans. The course material explains safety standards for tunnel excavation by providing ventilation and exhaust systems. The safe use of drill machines and drill jumbos is explained in this course. This course material is based on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Manual EM 385-1-1 Section 26.

At the conclusion of this course, the learner will have a better understanding of emergency rescue plans and its operations during underground construction as well as an understanding of the following topics:
